Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you state, “I completely agree,” and maintain the view that online access will reduce demand for printed books and newspapers. You give relevant reasons, including rapid access to news, online libraries, convenience, and environmental concerns. However, the response only partly develops the task. The claim that everything will be available online for free is treated as certain, without considering whether all content will remain free or whether some people will continue to prefer print. Several points, such as environmental impact and saving material to read later, are introduced but not explained with examples or detail. Develop fewer reasons more fully and address the absolute prediction in the prompt to make the argument more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly group related points, and transitions such as “In addition” and “In conclusion” help signal movement between sections. However, progression within the body paragraphs is often difficult to follow because many ideas are added in a list-like way, including news categories, online libraries, environmental effects and convenience. Repeated openings such as “Today” and “And” also make the linking mechanical. Some connections between claims are unclear, and punctuation sometimes runs sentences together. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, explain it, and use clear references and linking phrases to show how each supporting point relates to that reason.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “globalisation,” “online library,” “recent update” and “free of cost,” so the reader can generally understand your main points. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “internet,” “online,” “newspaper” and “books.” Frequent spelling errors, such as “agrue[d],” “purchaching,” “entertaimaint” and “preference,” reduce accuracy. Some combinations are also unnatural, for example “disclose any updates” and “the level dependency.” Choose more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations carefully. For instance, “access news” is more natural than “disclose updates,” while “reliance on the internet” expresses the intended idea more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic structures to express reasons and consequences, but the range is limited and errors occur frequently. Examples include “people will totaly stop purchaching,” “Today we are living is world,” and “it dont count any charge”; these contain problems with verb forms, sentence structure, articles and agreement. Some sentences are fragments, such as “Because everything will be available on internet,” while others run together without appropriate punctuation. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” and “although.” Check subject–verb agreement, articles and complete sentence boundaries during proofreading.
