In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying and I agree with this statement.

In the modern era, with life other things are growing and developing too. Our generation which is aldo known as "GenZ" their attention span is so low even though few people don't watch the netflix seasons because they thought they are way to long well, they don't do anything out of the book but still they claim to be busy. For instance, people don't buy newspaper just to read news because they can get all the information online.

Besides that, there are few number of people in the world who will bought the books and newspaper because There are few reason but I want to discuss the main two; number one is thise who love reading books and the 2nd one are those who just not read the newspaper for example If I talk about "World times" people read to gain knowledge to improve reading skills and it is also very helpful for those who wants to give an exam "CSS" which is basically pakistani exam. Moreover, with the passage of time, things change gradually. Now, people are not using cable because they have andriod TVs and youtube is the very easiest approach for everybidy who owns movile phone.

I might be wrong but still I strongly believe in that people in coming era will not buy the newspaper or books when the online will be an easy approach for them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear position in the introduction (“I agree”) and return to it in the conclusion, while offering relevant points about online access and people’s continuing interest in reading. However, the response only partly develops the question: the discussion of Gen Z’s attention span and television services does not clearly explain why free online reading will replace purchases of printed books and newspapers. The example of World Times and the CSS exam is more relevant, but its connection to the claim is not fully explained. The response contains 235 words, so it is 15 words below the required minimum; this limits the space available to develop and support your argument. To strengthen the response, explain both why online reading may reduce purchases and why some people may still buy print.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and linking expressions such as “Besides that,” “For instance” and “Moreover” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, progression is difficult to follow because several points are placed together without clear explanation of their relationship. For example, the paragraph moves from reading habits to World Times and the CSS exam, then to cable television and Android TVs. Some references are also unclear, such as “those who just not read the newspaper,” which makes the intended contrast hard to understand. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, then explain and illustrate it. Use linking phrases only where they accurately show the relationship between ideas, and make pronouns and references explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “attention span,” “gain knowledge,” “reading skills” and “passage of time,” and the reader can generally identify your main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning unclear. Examples include “few number of people,” “the very easiest approach” and “people in coming era.” Spelling errors such as “aldo,” “thise,” “andriod” and “movile” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise phrases that express your argument, such as “access news online” or “purchase printed copies,” and check spelling carefully. Building a small set of accurate vocabulary for discussing digital access, print media and consumer habits would help you express ideas more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a relative clause in “people who wants to give an exam” and a contrast introduced by “even though.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “Our generation … their attention span is so low” combines sentence structures without a clear grammatical link, while “people … who will bought” uses an incorrect verb form. There are also agreement and article errors, as in “people who wants” and “the online.” Work on forming complete clauses, matching subjects and verbs, and using consistent verb forms. Shorter, accurate sentences would make your reasoning clearer before you add more complex structures.
