Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you disagree that printed books and newspapers will disappear, and you give relevant reasons, including students’ use of physical books for highlighting and handwritten notes. You also address the claim that online reading is free by mentioning subscriptions and paid access. These points respond to the main issue, but some are not fully explained. For example, the claim that older people frequently use printed materials appears only in the conclusion, without supporting detail, and the point about inaccurate app information is not clearly linked to why people would continue buying print. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation or example, and address more directly whether online access could replace print in the future.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from students’ preference for print to the cost and reliability of online content is generally understandable. You also use linking expressions such as “For instance,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear: “The primary reason why i believe…” is a sentence fragment, and “accordingly” does not clearly follow the point about inaccurate apps. The conclusion introduces older people without developing that idea earlier. Make each paragraph’s main point explicit, connect examples directly to it, and use referencing and transitions more precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “subscription,” “handwritten notes,” “accurate information,” and “physical books.” These choices help communicate your main ideas, and you attempt more formal expressions such as “indispensable.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “for future usage,” “consume internet content,” “it is tremendous to consume wrong information,” and “lose their interest upon reading on screen.” Spelling errors such as “availiable,” “similarily,” “tremedous,” and “indespensable” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural combinations and check spelling carefully; this will make your meaning more precise and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including a “because” clause and the “Not only…but also” construction. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some sentence structures are faulty and errors occur in agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “The primary reason why i believe…” is incomplete, while “newspapers and books also plays” has a subject–verb agreement error. In “it will be able to read,” the subject does not match the intended meaning, and several sentences have awkward comma spacing or unnecessary commas. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and punctuation, especially when joining clauses.
