Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this modern era, due to the development of latest technology, everyone want to do online work rather then physically. Because, its a time saving technology. In this regard, some people believe that it is beneficial technology for them to study anywhere either thay are at house or not. According to my opinion, i totally agree with this statement that really, nobody will prefer to read printed newspaper either to have a modern technology because everyone in this busiest era is very busy so, they dont have enough time to read physically. The following essay will have a contentious debate on preference of reading online.Firstly, many people prefer to read online because they want to relax their mind either using by latest technology. it has several benefits like in this way, people can read online according to availability of time. Moreover, they dont need to sit at a proper place for reading. Additionally, they can enjoy and can boost their learning skills by exploring different websites. For instance, in whatsapp, Meta AI is most commonly using application in these days because it can teach you everything which you want to learn. It is totally without charge. Most of the people read online because during study, if they cannot understand any term thay can easily get information by using whatsapp feature. That'swhy even in future they will give preference to study online rather than read printed newspaper.

On the other hand, it also has some drawbacks like in can interrupt your study by notifications and also disturb your eyes muscles. But individuals don't pay much attention to these factors they are continuing their life style by latest technology and they have a proper belief that, one day they will get success in achieving their goals.

In conclusion, no doubt, people will be able to read anything online because that period will be advance by many developments and it also provides a lot of benefits like flexibility, explore formation by different websites, easy to understand. So, i totally agree that in future, nobody will buy printed newspapers, they only give preference to reading online.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you state that you “totally agree” and return to this view in the conclusion. You also give relevant reasons, including convenience, flexible access and the ability to find explanations online. However, the response only partly addresses the specific prediction about printed newspapers and books becoming unnecessary because online reading will be free. Most support concerns studying and technology generally, and the WhatsApp example does not clearly show why people will stop buying books or newspapers. The opposing point about notifications and eye strain is mentioned but not weighed against your position. Develop the argument by addressing free access, reliability and why printed publications might still be valued.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a main paragraph supporting online reading, a paragraph noting drawbacks and a conclusion. Connectors such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is uneven: the opening moves from online work to studying before reaching the question, and the main paragraph combines several benefits without clearly grouping or explaining them. Some linking is mechanical, while phrases such as “The following essay will have a contentious debate” do not guide the reader effectively. Improve cohesion by keeping each paragraph focused on one central point and using clear references and transitions to show how each example supports your argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary, including “flexibility,” “notifications,” “benefits,” and “achieving their goals,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the argument harder to follow. For example, “latest technology,” “relax their mind,” and “explore formation” do not express the intended ideas precisely; “physically” is also an unclear contrast with reading online. Spelling and informal forms such as “thay,” “dont,” and “That'swhy” further reduce control. Build a more precise range around the topic, using natural collocations for digital access, printed media, cost and convenience, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “if,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors occur in subject–verb agreement (“everyone want”), sentence boundaries (“Because, its a time saving technology”), and clause construction (“if they cannot understand any term thay can easily get information”). Articles, pronouns and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “a proper belief that, one day” and the repeated lowercase “i.” These problems sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then proofread agreement, punctuation and sentence boundaries.
