IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nawadays, this is very vital issue due to a lot of information of the world's history and all information releated about books has online form in the internet we don't need to wait for the future, however the issue about price is not true, even if all books and information on the papers have their online formats but that doesn't mean it will be free.
To begin with, there are tons of information that can be copied on the internet due to reduce the copies of them and more then 82% of them should be purchased one by one to read but even with that you cannot copy them and there are a lot of rules to copy them. while, a lot of people belive that it is more efficient to read from internet rather then reading them offline so on the facts are alternative for that because reading books or documents without glasses from very bright screen can make reader's eye blind after a few years.
On the other hand I agree that there are a lot of advantages that can be brought by giving important materials for free and so on why the government don't do that, why the companies of large communities don't do that, I belive it took more then a lot that we think and also there should be a lot of investors for funding that kind of scaled operation and so on there is no hope for the community to take all of these just for free and thats why there is no big scaled company that wants that and it is nearly impossible to made.
After concluding both sides as fas as I can, I belive that case is nearly impossible to be done in the future, and so on I disagree about that with my own facts and counterfacts for that.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a discernible position: you disagree that printed books and newspapers will disappear because online material will be free, and you correctly note that digital content may still require payment. This addresses the central claim, but the response only partially develops the task. The point about paid online copies is relevant, while the discussion of screen brightness and eyesight is less directly connected to whether people will stop buying print. Your paragraph about governments, companies and investors raises a potentially useful reason why free access may not be feasible, but it remains unclear and is not supported with a specific explanation or example. Develop both sides of the claim more directly, including why readers may continue to choose printed material, and state your position more clearly throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, so there is some basic organisation. The opening introduces the issue, and “On the other hand” signals a shift to another point. However, the progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from copying online content to purchasing rules and then to eye strain without clearly showing how these points connect. Linking phrases such as “and so on” recur without clarifying the relationship between ideas, and “After concluding both sides” does not accurately describe the limited development in the essay. Use one main idea per paragraph, explain it in a logical sequence, and use clear references and transitions rather than repeated filler phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “online formats,” “purchased,” “investors” and “funding,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make parts of the argument hard to understand. For example, “tons of information that can be copied…due to reduce the copies” does not express a clear meaning, and “scaled operation” and “big scaled company” are not natural collocations in this context. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “Nawadays,” “releated” and “belive.” Build a more precise vocabulary for discussing digital access, publishing costs and print readership, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and contrast, as in “even if all books…have their online formats but that doesn't mean it will be free.” This shows an effort to use more than simple sentences, but complex constructions are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the intended relationships difficult to follow. For instance, “there are tons of information that can be copied…due to reduce the copies” has problems with clause structure and verb form, while “it is nearly impossible to made” uses an incorrect verb form. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, including the lower-case “while” after a full stop. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with accurate verb forms and punctuation.
