IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 4.5)
In future the printed newspaper or books will not buy by anyone because everything that we want are avaliable in on internet.
In older times newspapers are very important in our lifes but nowadays everthing we want or read they are avaliable on internet. But there are many pros and cons of this.In my opinion in future we have to use the printed books or newspaper in future because they are many side effects of screeing. In the mordern world people are spending alot of time in there mobile phones instead of newspapers and books.
But at the same time older people are remain constant same in those days they are using printed news paper and books.
I agreed with this statment that the buying of printed newspaper or books are not buying by anybody in future.but i think using of screens are very harmful for us at this time the eyesight of people they using the phones are very weak from the older people.
on the other hand the work of printing newspaper or books are closed in future there is the big loss of people they have their full time jobs in it.
The new childs even they will not even they see the newspaper of older times but i thought that everybody they living in this world even childrens or parents will be aware from newspapers because the older time is the best time from those days.
I will agree with this statment because the new world is very fast and advance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a position, but it is difficult to identify consistently: you first say printed books and newspapers will still be needed, then write, “I agreed with this statement” and later “I will agree,” which appears to support their disappearance. The response touches on relevant points, including screen-related effects, older people’s reading habits, and jobs in printing. However, these ideas are brief and are not clearly connected to whether people will stop buying printed material because online content is free. The claim about eyesight, for example, needs explanation and support, and the employment point is not developed. State your degree of agreement clearly in the introduction and conclusion, then explain and support two or three directly relevant reasons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is an attempt to organise the response with an opening, several points, and linking phrases such as “But at the same time” and “on the other hand.” However, the ideas do not progress in a clear sequence, and the paragraphing is limited: several different points are crowded together, while the final sentence introduces a conclusion without resolving the conflicting position. Connections between sentences are often unclear, as in the passage about children, parents, and “the older time.” Some transitions also suggest contrast without making the relationship between the ideas clear. Use separate paragraphs for your position, each main reason, and the conclusion; make each paragraph develop one point and use clear references to link ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is basic and often repetitive, with frequent reliance on “newspaper,” “books,” “future,” and “people.” Some wording makes the intended meaning difficult to follow, such as “the older time is the best time from those days” and “the work of printing newspaper or books are closed.” There are also spelling errors, including “avaliable,” “everthing,” “statment,” and “screeing,” which reduce accuracy. You do communicate a few relevant concepts, such as “side effects” and “full time jobs,” but these expressions need more precise and natural phrasing. Build a small range of topic vocabulary and check spelling, word forms, and collocations when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response relies mainly on simple statements and shows limited control of sentence structure. Errors occur frequently in verb forms and agreement: “everything that we want are available” should use a singular verb, while “the printed newspaper or books will not buy” needs a passive construction. Other examples include “older people are remain constant” and “the eyesight of people … are very weak,” where the verb patterns and agreement are faulty. Several sentences join clauses without clear punctuation, making relationships harder to follow. There are attempts to use longer structures, such as “because” clauses, but these are often inaccurate. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled complex sentences with correct subjects, verbs, and punctuation.
