Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall disagreement and include relevant points: online reading can save “money and time,” while printed books may be more comfortable for the eyes and remain familiar to some readers. However, the response only partially develops the question. The claim that people will be able to read everything online without paying is not examined in detail, and the examples—such as students using Facebook and Google—are brief and unclear. The conclusion repeats your view but does not add a developed summary. The response is also 86 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation and a specific, relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: you introduce your position, present an advantage of online reading, contrast it with reasons for printed books, and finish with a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “on the one hand,” “on the other hand,” and “in addition” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, progression is difficult to follow because several points are compressed together, and some links do not clearly express the relationship between sentences. For example, “because he helps in big screen” is hard to connect to the point about school libraries. The response would be clearer with separate paragraphs for the introduction, each main argument, and the conclusion, and with each paragraph developing one central idea in a logical order.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “traditional,” “beneficial,” and “save money and time,” and the reader can identify your main subject. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling and word-choice problems sometimes make meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “furture,” “disapear,” “healty,” and “faver,” as well as unclear phrases such as “online reading have easy and low” and “pain had and eyes.” Some expressions appear to be direct translations rather than natural English collocations. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases—such as “digital publications,” “eye strain,” and “access information”—and check spelling and word forms carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use mostly simple statements and make some attempts to connect clauses, for example with “because” and “although.” This gives the response a basic sentence structure, but the range is limited and errors occur frequently, sometimes making relationships between ideas unclear. Subject–verb agreement is a recurring issue: “many people reads” and “online reading have” should use matching verb forms. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “printed books will never disapear .first of all.” Practise forming accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas using clauses such as “because” or “although.” Check agreement, articles, and punctuation during revision.
