Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear from the opening: “I completely agree,” and you give relevant reasons, including convenience, free access, older newspapers being available online, and adjustable text size. The personal example about finding a book unavailable in local stores also supports your view. However, the response only partly addresses the statement’s full claim that nobody will buy printed books or newspapers in the future. Most of the discussion explains why online reading is useful, without considering whether printed publications will still have buyers or acknowledging limits to free online access. Some points, especially the eyesight argument, are repeated rather than developed. To strengthen the response, address the prediction directly and explain why your reasons make printed media likely to disappear—or why they may not.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two main paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas are generally grouped by topic: access and availability first, then eyesight and archives. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “In addition” and “For instance” help signal relationships. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several ideas repeat, particularly the claims that readers can access material anywhere and that online text can be enlarged. Some connections are also difficult to follow, as in “They can get various genres … which is almost free,” where the relationship between the sentence parts is unclear. The conclusion begins to restate the main points but ends unfinished, weakening the overall structure. Use clearer topic sentences, develop each reason once, and ensure the final paragraph completes the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “various genres,” “academic titles,” “available online,” and “records,” and these choices help communicate your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “online,” “read,” “books,” and “anywhere or any time.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “perfered,” “availabe,” “magzines,” and “benificial,” which can distract the reader. Some combinations are unnatural, for example “weaken eyesights men” and “read it online without paying any cost.” Build a wider set of accurate expressions for access, affordability and print media, and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using clauses with “because,” “so,” and “if,” as well as examples introduced by “For instance.” This shows an effort to connect ideas rather than relying only on short statements. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “they will shifted” has an incorrect verb form, while “there an feature” is missing a verb and article. In “every book is not available,” the sentence structure also does not express the intended meaning clearly. Practise forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, verb tense and articles; then divide long, loosely connected sentences into clearer units.
