In this world where technology operates almost everything, it has been predicted that one day, no one will read printed newspapers or books anymore. While some people believe that books will never go out of style, I think that time will come that majority of the people will choose online books for convenience, positive contribution to nature, and cheaper price.

To start with, technology nowadays has made life a lot easier. This convenience inlcudes the use of books. Many people nowadays choose to read books online. These books can be carried anytime and are available to read anywhere. In addition, current affairs are now usually readily available through various social media platforms. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you expect most people to choose online reading, and you give reasons involving convenience, environmental impact and cost. You also acknowledge the appeal of printed books, so the response addresses both the prediction and the opposing view. However, the discussion is not equally developed: the environmental point is brief, and the claim that newspapers are no longer needed because news appears on social media is asserted rather than explained. The printed-book counterargument is also limited to the pleasure of turning pages and the book’s scent. To strengthen the response, explain how these points affect people’s choices and address the statement’s claim that online material will be available without payment.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to reasons for online reading, a counterargument and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally have clear purposes, and linking expressions such as “To start with,” “In addition” and “While” help signal the progression. Some connections are nevertheless mechanical, and the reasoning within paragraphs could be linked more explicitly. For example, the move from online access to social media news and then to environmental benefits feels like a list of separate points. The conclusion is also cut off, so it does not fully bring the argument together. Use clearer transitions between distinct ideas and ensure the final paragraph completes the summary of your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “printed newspapers,” “social media platforms,” “current affairs” and “environment.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and phrases such as “personal sense of satisfaction” show an attempt to express a more specific point. However, several word-choice and spelling errors reduce precision, including “inlcudes,” “tress,” “prividing” and “covenient.” Some expressions are also awkward or imprecise, such as “positive contribution to nature” and “cheaper price.” Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would also help distinguish free online access from simply cheaper digital books.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession clause beginning “While reading books online…” and a reason clause with “as less paper means…”. Most sentences communicate their meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “that majority of the people” needs an article before “majority,” and “more affordable for them that buying” uses an incorrect comparison structure. The sentence beginning “For example, students nowadays, prefer…” also has an unnecessary comma separating the subject from the verb. The final sentence is incomplete, which prevents the conclusion from being grammatically finished. Review articles, comparison patterns and punctuation, and proofread the ending.
