Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, Newspaper and books in hard form has become a widely discussed issue in modern society. While some people believe that after few years, newspaper and books are totally finished in the world because,we use a Internet. others argue that in nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. . In my opinion, I believe that is it trye because it can have a significant impact on individuals and society.

To begin with, one of the main reasons for this is that newspaper and books we purchased in the shop and use our income in huge amount. This is because it can provide several benefits and help people improve their daily lives. For example, the shop owner source of income in this books and newspaper. As a result, individuals can develop their knowledge, skills and overall quality of life. Therefore, this is an important factor that should be taken into consideration.

Furthermore, another important point to consider is that good for saving money . In other words, we save our money for purchasing a old books and newspaper. For instance, last year, im interesting to read a book Mr. chips. i was going in bazar for purchasing this book. its proze almost 17500 pkr . Although some people may have a different opinion, I believe that the advantages of this approach can be considerable, provided that it is used appropriately. Consequently, this can contribute to positive outcomes for both individuals and society.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that people using internet for taking information. The main reasons for this are printed newspaper and book is totally wastage of money and place and online read books is cheap and not taking any huge place like daraaz. Ultimately, the best approach is to consider the issue carefully and make decisions that benefit both individuals and society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a position—“I believe that is it trye”—and return to the idea that online reading saves money in the conclusion. However, the response only partially addresses the question because it does not clearly explain whether people will stop buying printed books and newspapers altogether, or consider the claim that online material will be free. The first body paragraph is especially unclear: it mentions shop owners’ income and the benefits of reading, but does not connect these points to whether print will disappear. The example of paying 17,500 PKR for a book could support your argument about cost, but its relevance and implications need explaining. Develop two directly relevant reasons and support each with a clear explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” make the intended structure visible. However, the ideas do not progress clearly within that structure. For example, the first body paragraph moves from buying print to shop owners’ income, then to readers’ knowledge and quality of life without showing how these points support your position. The second paragraph begins with saving money but shifts to a personal book purchase and then to a general statement about advantages. Some linking phrases, including “As a result” and “Consequently,” introduce conclusions that are not clearly established. Organise each paragraph around one reason, explain it step by step, and use references and transitions only where the relationship between ideas is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “printed newspapers,” “online,” “income,” “purchasing” and “quality of life.” This gives you a basic range for discussing print and digital reading. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “newspaper and books in hard form,” “the shop owner source of income in this books,” and “online read books is cheap.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “trye,” “proze” and “wastage,” also reduce precision. Aim to use familiar topic vocabulary accurately before adding more ambitious expressions. Practise collocations such as “printed publications,” “digital content,” “save money” and “take up space,” and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, using structures such as “While some people believe…” and “Although some people may have a different opinion…”. However, many sentences contain errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction, which sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “Newspaper and books in hard form has become” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “after few years” and “we use a Internet” show article errors. The sentence beginning “In my opinion, I believe that is it…” is also difficult to interpret because its clause structure is faulty. Focus first on accurate simple sentences, then build longer sentences with one clear main clause and a correctly formed subordinate clause. Check agreement, articles and punctuation carefully.
