Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a clear position—“I fully agree”—and organise the response around online systems, but the discussion does not adequately address the specific claim about printed newspapers and books becoming unnecessary because online reading is free. Most of the body focuses instead on online shopping, charity, emergencies and household needs, so the ideas are largely tangential to the question. The response also falls 50 words short of the required minimum, leaving little space to explain relevant reasons or examples. To improve, discuss whether free online access will replace print, and support your view with points such as convenience, cost, access to devices, or readers’ preference for physical books.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. These markers help the reader follow the broad sequence. However, the ideas within the paragraphs do not develop a clear line of reasoning about printed reading, and several details—such as charity and old-age homes—appear without a clear connection to the preceding point. Linking phrases such as “However” and “In conclusion” are present, but they cannot compensate for unclear relationships between ideas. Build each paragraph around one relevant reason, explain it, and connect the example directly to the claim about online newspapers and books.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “online system,” “educational departments” and “basic needs,” and attempt phrases such as “critical condition.” However, vocabulary is often repetitive or imprecise, particularly the repeated use of “online system” and “major role,” and several expressions make the intended meaning difficult to follow. There are also spelling errors, including “modren,” “expences,” “orphnage” and “avalibilty.” These limitations reduce precision when discussing the task. Aim to use vocabulary specifically related to reading and publishing, such as “digital editions,” “printed publications,” “subscription” and “access,” and check spelling and natural word combinations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional structure beginning “if they want,” and use basic sequencing to organise the response. However, errors in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement and punctuation occur throughout. For example, “there will be no one who bought printed or books” has an unclear structure and tense, while “they plays a key role” has a subject–verb agreement error. The opening sentence also joins several ideas without clear sentence boundaries. Practise writing complete, controlled sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check that subjects and verbs agree, use consistent tenses, and place spaces after commas and full stops.
