Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a position—“I strongly agree”—and attempt to discuss both online reading and printed materials, so the response is recognisably connected to the topic. However, the task asks whether printed newspapers and books will disappear because online content is free, and this central claim is only minimally addressed. The opening repeats the prompt in unclear wording, while points about vocabulary, IELTS preparation, mental health, eyesight and students from poor families are not clearly linked to whether people will stop buying print. The conclusion is also contradictory: it refers to printed products as beneficial but then says they are available on websites. Develop a clear argument about cost, convenience, access or readers’ preference, and support it with relevant explanations and examples. The response meets the stated length requirement; 11 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion, showing an attempt to organise the discussion. However, ideas are not arranged coherently enough for the reader to follow a consistent line of reasoning. Within the first body paragraph, free access, videos, vocabulary, IELTS preparation and mental health appear without clear links. The second paragraph shifts between students’ finances, eyesight and technology, and the conclusion does not resolve the contrast. Connect each paragraph to one main point and explain how it supports your position. Use linking expressions to show relationships between ideas, rather than relying mainly on “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “So”; clearer references and transitions would also make the progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “printed newspaper,” “online,” “digital technology” and “websites,” and use some words connected with education and society. However, the range is basic and often repetitive, and inaccurate word choice or spelling frequently makes the intended meaning difficult to understand. Phrases such as “online watch the newspapers,” “personal videos,” “proved the mentally strengthen” and “printed qualities” do not express clear ideas in this context. There are also spelling errors such as “vocaburly” and “technilogies.” Choose precise, familiar expressions and check that each phrase fits its meaning; for example, distinguish between reading online content and watching videos. More accurate collocations would make your argument clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both short statements and longer sentences, and the response includes basic connectors such as “because,” “because” and “although” is not used; however, most sentence patterns remain simple, and frequent errors in sentence construction and agreement can distort meaning. For example, “Every person watch” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “Digital technology are highly performed” has errors in agreement and sentence structure. “Some of the student are poorly families not have require the money” is difficult to interpret because the clauses are not formed correctly. Articles, plurals and verb forms are also inconsistently controlled. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and tense. Use a few accurate complex sentences to explain cause and effect rather than joining several unclear ideas.
