Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you partly disagree because printed materials retain advantages, while acknowledging that online reading is popular and often free. You address both sides and give relevant examples, such as accessing news on smartphones and children enjoying illustrated books. This fits the task well. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that print is beneficial for the eyes and easier to read would be stronger if you explained how it reduces eye strain or supports concentration. The point about improving “cognitive ability and communication skill” is also not clearly connected to free online reading. Develop these ideas with specific reasoning so that each main claim is fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs presenting online and printed reading, and a conclusion. The contrastive signposts “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the argument, and the examples generally appear alongside the points they illustrate. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger progression. At times, however, links between sentences are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “With this people can enhance…” does not clearly show how the previous point leads to this benefit, and “However” introduces the student-books point without a clear contrast. Use linking phrases that express the precise relationship between ideas, and make sure each paragraph develops one central point in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “digital platforms,” “physical books,” “screen time,” and “reading experience,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts to use more specific terms, such as “educational material” and “communication skill.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are noticeable throughout, including “conpemporary,” “disapper,” “conveninent,” and “afforadable.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “for free of cost,” “small the time period,” and “more concentrate.” These issues sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships, rather than relying on direct translations. A smaller set of correctly used topic-specific expressions would make your argument clearer and more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a result structure beginning “as a result.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “technology has play” needs a past participle, while “it change the way” needs a correctly formed verb; “printed material … will not completely disappear … Because” also creates an incomplete sentence. There are further problems with singular and plural forms in “some student” and “communication skill.” Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and complete sentences before adding more complex clauses. Careful proofreading for verb endings, articles, and sentence boundaries would improve control.
