Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The given picture illustrate the process of instant noodles. It can be seen that, the whole system devided in sevarel steps, from stroge silos to labelling and sealing.
It is noticeable that manufacturing instant noodles containt 8 steps. Initially it start with storaging flour, then mix with water and oil, moreover, go though rollers which is made off dough sheets, after that process there is dough strips that helps to turn a shape, following the next process it goes to noodles discs its kind of vassle for noodle, then in order to make it eatable it need to add cooking oil and make it dry, after completing basic prepartion, comes the main part which is adding vegetables and spices, that way it makes new flavoures. After succesfully covering all the part only one left which is labels and proper packeging , that is means now it is all ready for selling.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the process as having eight steps and mention several relevant stages, including mixing flour with water and oil, forming dough sheets and strips, cooking and drying, adding vegetables and spices, and final labelling and packaging. However, the account is only partly accurate and developed: the diagram shows noodles formed into discs before cooking, then placed in cups as vegetables and spices are added, followed by labelling and sealing. The response instead calls the discs a “vassle” and describes packaging generally, without clearly reporting the cup-filling stage or the finished product. The overview is also limited to the number and endpoints of the stages. To strengthen the summary, give a clear overview of the transformation from flour to sealed cups and describe the sequence precisely, without adding unsupported purposes such as making the noodles “eatable.”
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall progression: it begins with storage and mixing, moves through dough formation and cooking, and ends with flavouring and packaging. The opening overview also helps orient the reader, and sequencing expressions such as “Initially,” “after that,” and “following the next process” show an effort to connect stages. However, nearly all the process details are crowded into one long paragraph and sentence, so the progression becomes difficult to follow. Some links are mechanical or unclear, particularly “moreover, go though rollers” and “after completing basic prepartion, comes the main part.” Use separate sentences for the main phases and clearer references to each product as it changes; this would make the sequence easier to track while retaining the logical order.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant process vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “dough sheets,” “dough strips,” “vegetables and spices,” and “labelling and sealing.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the manufacturing stages. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make parts of the description unclear, such as “stroge,” “vassle,” “flavoures,” and “packeging.” Some phrases are also imprecise for a process diagram: “helps to turn a shape” and “covering all the part” do not clearly describe what happens. Aim for accurate process verbs and nouns, such as “is shaped into,” “is formed into discs,” and “is sealed in cups.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise collocations would improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect several stages using subordinate and sequencing structures, for example “in order to make it eatable” and “after completing basic prepartion.” However, the response relies heavily on one extended sentence, and attempts at complex structures are often faulty. Errors include subject–verb agreement in “The given picture illustrate” and “it start,” missing or incorrect articles in “turn a shape” and “it need to add,” and unclear clause construction in “moreover, go though rollers which is made off dough sheets.” Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and a comma splice near the end. Use shorter sentences with a clear subject and verb for each stage, then check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
