The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The process diagram explains the step-by-step process of manufacturing of instant noodles.

Overall, floor passes through eight stages and is combined with four different ingredients to make noodles. Later in the process, manufactured noodles are stored in cups which are later sealed and labeled for the consumers.

In the first stage of manufacturing noodles, flour is transferred to storage silos from trucks and in the later stage, mixed with water and oil in a mixer. The output dough from the mixer is passed through rollers to make dough sheets and converted into dough strips in the fourth stage.

Further processing takes place and strips are made into noodles discs for further cooking using oil and drying. Once the cooked noodles are dried, these are then packed in cups with vegetables and spices. In the last stage of the process, cups are labelled and sealed for the market.
