Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. Furthermore, the content is underdeveloped. While the student attempts to describe the process, the summary is fragmented and lacks a clear overview of the manufacturing stages. The inclusion of irrelevant personal commentary, such as 'The noodles is very favourite of children,' is inappropriate for an Academic Task 1 report. To improve, you must describe the entire process from start to finish, including the final packaging stage, and ensure all information is objective and relevant to the provided diagram.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response lacks logical progression. While there is a basic attempt to sequence steps using words like 'Then' and 'In the 3rd Step,' the lack of a clear structure and the very short length make the text feel like a list of disjointed sentences rather than a cohesive report. Paragraphing is not used effectively to group the stages of the process. To improve, you should organize your writing into a clear introduction, a summary of main features, and distinct paragraphs for the different stages of the manufacturing process, using a wider range of linking words.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. The student relies on basic terms like 'factory,' 'noodles,' and 'mix.' There are also errors in word formation and usage, such as 'maded' (instead of 'made') and 'entered in' (instead of 'fed into'). The range is insufficient to describe a technical process accurately. To improve, you should learn specific vocabulary related to industrial processes, such as 'conveyor belt,' 'processed,' 'packaged,' and 'transformed,' and focus on using these terms in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The noodles is,' 'The rollers makes') and article usage. The sentence structures are simple and repetitive, with no attempt at complex sentences. The errors are frequent and often distort the intended meaning. To improve, you must focus on basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that verbs agree with their subjects and that plural/singular forms are used correctly. Practicing the passive voice is also essential for describing industrial processes.
