Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the overall task achievement. While the student identifies the main stages of the noodle manufacturing process, the description is overly simplistic and lacks the necessary detail to fully explain the sequence. The overview is present but lacks clarity, and the response fails to make meaningful comparisons or highlight key features effectively. Because the response is under-length and lacks sufficient development of the process stages, it does not fully address the requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organized into a single paragraph, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of the process. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices such as 'To embark with', 'Nextly', and 'moving ahead', these are often used incorrectly or sound unnatural. The logical flow is hindered by the lack of clear paragraphing and the repetitive structure of the sentences. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall arrangement of information feels mechanical rather than fluid.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. The student relies on basic terms like 'process', 'step', and 'make', which are insufficient for a formal report. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'man-process' and 'noodles discs are make'. The spelling errors, such as 'ang' instead of 'and', further detract from the quality of the writing. To improve, the student needs to incorporate more precise terminology related to manufacturing processes and improve their control over word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'noodles discs are make', 'vegetables and spices add'), tense usage, and sentence structure. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing articles and incorrect comma placement. The lack of complex sentence structures prevents the student from demonstrating a higher level of grammatical control. The errors are frequent and occasionally impede the reader's understanding of the process.
