The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The illustration shows the process of manufacturing noodles in a food industry. Overall, there are eight steps to make instant noodles.

Firstly, the flour is stocked in storage silos for manufacturing noodles in bulk, which is mixed with water and oil to make a dough in a mixer. Following that dough is pressed by rollers to make thin and smooth dough sheets. The dough sheets are cut into dough strips and processed further towards the noodles discs. After that noodles are dried and dipped into cooking oil to make them less sticky before filling them in the cups. At this stage, a few chopped vegetables and spices are added to enhance the flavor of the noodles. Final step involves the labeling of noodles packs and sealing them properly to avoid any spill. The label contains required information about the noodles. For instance, recipes, ingredients, storage temperature, flavor, and manufacturing as well as expiry dates.
