Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main stages of the noodle manufacturing process, but it lacks a clear overview of the process as a whole. While it identifies the key steps, the description is somewhat fragmented and fails to highlight the logical flow effectively. The introduction is weak, and the conclusion is overly simplistic. To improve, you should provide a clear summary of the entire process in the introduction, noting the start and end points, and ensure that the sequence of steps is described with greater clarity and precision. Some details, such as the specific order of the eight stages, are not clearly articulated, which limits the overall effectiveness of the report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression between them is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'moreover' or 'to continue with'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the sequence of events. For instance, the transition between the mixing stage and the packaging stage is abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect ideas more fluidly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that contributes to the overall narrative of the process.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'many processes are involve' and 'mixture is use to mix'. The use of vocabulary is somewhat repetitive, and there is a lack of technical or process-specific terminology that would enhance the description of the manufacturing stages. To improve, focus on using more precise verbs and nouns related to industrial processes, such as 'conveyed', 'processed', 'automated', or 'integrated', and work on improving your grasp of word forms to avoid basic grammatical errors in your vocabulary usage.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'processes are involve', 'mixture is use') and article usage. The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. When complex structures are attempted, they often contain errors, such as 'which will be making by laying'. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly the use of passive voice, which is essential for describing processes. Reviewing verb tenses and ensuring consistent subject-verb agreement will significantly improve the clarity and accuracy of your writing.
