The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The diagram illustrates the way in which instant noodles are made.

Overall, the process has got 8 disntict stages starting with the collection of flour in the storage silos ending with labelling and sealing of the noodles packages.

In the initial stage, flour is collected by a truck from the silos where it is stored and transported to the mixer. The flour is then mixed with water and oil in a container, the mixture is then released into rollers making the flour dough sheets. The fouth stage then sees the sheets being pushed into a machine that cuts the large dough into strips pushing them foward to make them noodle discs in the 5th stage. The noodles are dipped into cooking oils for drying, after drying the product is put into cups where the vegetables and spices are put for flavaring and finally the cups of noodles will be laballed and sealed.
