The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

This diagram illustrates the process by which instant noodles are manufactured, from the storage of flour to the packaging of final product.

Overall, the process consists of several stages, beginning with the storage of flour in large silos and ending with the sealed cups having noodles. The process involves mixing, rolling, cutting, cooking, drying and labelling+sealing.

Initially,the floor is stored in the large silos from where it enters into the mixer where it is mixed with water and oil. Next step involves making thin sheets of the mixture, which is done by pressing with rollers. These sheets are subsequently cut into strips, which are then formed into circular noodle discs.

In the next stage, these discs are cooked in oil and then dried. Once this process is complete, the noodles are placed into cups and here vegetables and spices are added to cups to get required flavour. After making it spicy and tasty, these cups are sealed and labelled which make the cups branded. Now these cups are ready to eat and serve and are sent for distribution.
