The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.5)

The process diagram illustrates the various stages involved in the production of instant noodles.

Overall, the process consists of 8 main stages, beginning with the flour being filled into storage silos by a truck and ending with cups being labelled and sealed. During the process, the flour is transformed into dough then to noodles discs, which are then cooked and combined with other ingredients before being packaged.

At the beginning of the process, flour is filled into storage silos by a truck, which then is transported to a factory. Subsequently, the flour is mixed with water and oil converting it into a mixture, that moves towards the rollers to get rolled into dough sheet that would later be transformed into dough strips.

Looking at the next stage, the dough strips move towards the machine, where they are converted into noodles discs, these are then cooked using oil and dried finalizing the noodle-making process. Now for the packaging, the noodles are placed in cups, where vegetables and spices are added. After this, the cups move to the next process, where they get labeled and sealed.
