Student answer (Band 5.5)
The diagram displays that how instant noodles are manufactured. The process is described from the beginning to the end.
It is clear that the process starts from the storage slios and the flour has been prepared over there and after that it has been transfered to the mixture with some oil and water and when it has been properly mixed than the flour has been passed from the rollers where the dough has been converted into a thin dough sheet. Dough sheet has been sliced properly and converted into a strips and after that it has turned into the noodles discs.
The noodles discs has been fried and packeged into the cups with some added spices and some vegitables in it. Later on, the cups has been labbled with a company tag and sealed efficiently to prevent it from moisture.
In conclusion, the process describe that how the instant noodles has been been prepared from the dough to the final and consumable product.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main stages of the noodle manufacturing process, from storage to final packaging. However, the description is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear overview or summary of the key features, such as the transformation of raw ingredients into a final product. While the process is described chronologically, the report would benefit from a more analytical approach that highlights the transition from raw materials to the final consumable form. The inclusion of specific details, such as the addition of spices and vegetables, is good, but the overall structure could be more effectively organised to present a clearer summary of the entire manufacturing cycle.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the process. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat repetitive and mechanical, relying heavily on 'after that' and 'and'. The progression of ideas is logical, but the transitions between sentences could be smoother and more varied. The conclusion is a bit redundant, as it simply restates the purpose of the essay rather than synthesising the main points of the process. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is more precise would enhance the flow and coherence of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety expected at higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'slios' (silos), 'packeged' (packaged), 'vegitables' (vegetables), and 'labbled' (labelled). Additionally, some word choices are slightly awkward, such as 'mixture' instead of 'mixer' and 'company tag' instead of 'label'. To improve, you should focus on using more precise technical vocabulary related to manufacturing processes and ensure greater accuracy in spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'The noodles discs has been fried' and 'the cups has been labbled'. There are also issues with article usage and tense consistency, such as 'the process describe that how'. While the meaning is generally clear, the number of errors is significant. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will help improve the accuracy of your writing.
