Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main stages of the manufacturing process, but it lacks a clear overview or summary of the process as a whole. The description is largely a list of steps rather than a report that highlights key features or makes comparisons. While the sequence is followed, the lack of a clear introduction and a concluding summary prevents it from reaching a higher band. The information is presented in a single, dense block of text, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of the manufacturing cycle effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is written as a single, long paragraph, which lacks logical paragraphing. There is a lack of effective cohesive devices; the text relies heavily on repetitive phrases like 'moving to the next step' or 'moving to the sixth step'. The flow is mechanical and lacks the sophisticated linking required for higher bands. While the sequence of the process is chronological, the lack of clear sentence boundaries and effective transitions makes the text difficult to read and follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. Words such as 'step', 'moving', and 'cups' are used repeatedly throughout the text. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'the noodle who they manufactured' and 'flavour's', which are grammatically incorrect or awkward. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe a technical process with precision. To improve, you should aim to use more specific verbs related to manufacturing, such as 'processed', 'distributed', 'compressed', or 'sealed'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammar is significantly flawed, with frequent errors in sentence structure, punctuation, and subject-verb agreement. For example, 'it totaly contains' should be 'it totally contains', and 'each step have' should be 'each step has'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the run-on nature of the sentences makes the text difficult to parse. Punctuation is almost entirely absent, which hinders clarity. The frequent errors in basic grammar and the lack of varied sentence forms indicate a limited control over the language.
