Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main stages of the manufacturing process, from raw materials to the finished product. However, the description is quite superficial and lacks the analytical depth required for a higher band. While the main steps are identified, the response fails to group them logically or highlight key features effectively. The writing is essentially a list of steps rather than a summary. To improve, you should structure the report into clear paragraphs—an introduction, an overview of the process, and detailed body paragraphs—rather than presenting the entire process in a single, run-on paragraph. You must also avoid informal phrasing like 'our instant noodles are ready to go'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response suffers significantly from a lack of paragraphing, as it is presented as a single, dense block of text. This makes it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of the process. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and repetitive way, such as the frequent use of 'soon after that' and 'soon then'. There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to show the relationship between the stages of the manufacturing cycle. To improve, you should use clear paragraph breaks to separate the introduction, overview, and process details, and vary your transition signals to improve the flow of information.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. There are several spelling errors, such as 'hoe' instead of 'how', 'matteraly' for 'materials', 'finshed prodution' for 'finished product', and 'manchan' for 'machine'. The range of vocabulary is basic and repetitive, relying on simple verbs like 'brings', 'mixed', and 'made'. To reach a higher band, you need to use more precise, technical terminology related to manufacturing processes, such as 'processed', 'conveyed', 'extruded', or 'packaged'. You should also focus on improving your spelling and using more varied, academic vocabulary to describe the stages of the diagram.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('instant noodles are make'), article usage ('the instant noodles are make from the raw matteraly'), and sentence structure. The text consists of long, run-on sentences that lack proper punctuation, making the writing difficult to parse. For example, the third paragraph is one extremely long sentence that attempts to cover the entire process. To improve, you must focus on using shorter, clearer sentences, ensuring correct verb tenses, and mastering basic punctuation to separate distinct ideas and steps in the process.
