Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main stages of the noodle manufacturing process, from raw flour to the final product. However, the description is somewhat superficial and lacks a clear overview or summary of the process as a whole. While the key stages are mentioned, the explanation of how the dough is processed into noodles is slightly confusing, particularly the reference to 'ships' and 'discus' shapes, which suggests a misinterpretation of the visual data. To reach a higher band, you should provide a more precise summary of the transformation stages and ensure that the terminology used accurately reflects the diagram provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into three paragraphs, which is a logical structure for a process description. You use some cohesive devices such as 'The first stage', 'Additionally', and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel forced. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'carrying more ahead it get changed into ships', where the subject of the action is ambiguous. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence clearly follows from the previous one would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of inaccurate word choice and awkward phrasing. For example, 'raw flour is been reached' is not standard English, and 'ships' and 'discus' are likely incorrect descriptions of the noodle shapes. Additionally, 'enhanced the flavour' contains a grammatical error ('enhanced' should be 'enhance'). To improve, focus on using more precise technical vocabulary related to manufacturing processes and ensure that your word choices are appropriate for a formal report. Avoid using informal or vague descriptors for technical objects.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly with verb tenses and passive voice constructions. Examples include 'raw flour is been reached', 'it get changed', 'labelling and sealing are been done', and 'it transport to the final stage'. These errors occasionally make the meaning difficult to follow. While you attempt to use complex sentence structures, the lack of control over basic grammar and subject-verb agreement limits your score. You should focus on mastering the passive voice, which is essential for describing processes, and proofreading for basic tense consistency.
