Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main stages of the process, but it lacks a clear overview or summary of the manufacturing cycle. The introduction is informal and repetitive, and the response fails to highlight key comparisons or the overall nature of the process. While all steps are mentioned, the description is purely sequential and lacks the analytical approach required for a Band 6 or higher. The response would benefit from grouping stages logically rather than listing them step-by-step in a single paragraph.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is written as a single block of text, which makes it difficult to follow. There is a lack of paragraphing to separate the stages of the process. While some cohesive devices like 'First of all', 'Next', and 'Finally' are used, they are somewhat mechanical. The progression of ideas is linear but lacks sophisticated linking between the different phases of production. To improve, the student should organize the information into distinct paragraphs, such as preparation, processing, and packaging.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'put some water', 'become into', and 'the machine create' show limited control over collocations and academic register. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'the given whole diagram illustrate' (should be 'illustrates') and 'become into' (incorrect preposition). The range of vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic meaning, but it lacks the precision and variety expected for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('the noodles is cooked', 'the noodles cups is labeled') and tense inconsistencies ('flour is being bring'). The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is generally functional, but the overall control of grammar is weak, which occasionally hinders the flow of information. More attention to verb forms and pluralization is necessary.
