The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The provided diagram illustrates a step-by-step manufacturing process of instant noodles.

Overall, the process has eight industrial stages of making instant noodles. The major steps include dough making in a mixer, cooking, adding vegetables and spices and finally levelling.

At first, flour is stored in large storage silos using dedicated trucks. These flour are then mixed with water and oil in a mixer to prepare the dough. Subsequently, the doughs are kneaded with the help of a roller on dough sheets. After that, the doughs go through dough strips and get the noodles shape.

In the following stages, the raw dough strips are cooked using oil and dried in noodles discs. The cooked noodles are put in cups where vegetables and spices are added. Finally, the cups are levelled and sealed properly and are ready to be sold in stores. The whole manufacturing process is automatic. It is done in an automatic long conveyer belt.
