The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The illustrations below provides information on how instant noodles are manufacred in bulk involving an complete 8 step industrial process.

Overall, the steps are broken down in 8 varying procedures from the storage of ingredients to the mixing and rolling of by-products and finally the packaging and labelling of the globally consumed fast food.

Firstly, the flour is transported using a truck and is kept in silos. The flour is then poured in a mixer where water and oil is added and all the substances are mixed together thoroughly. The mixture then passes through a roller

where they are converted into thin sheets of dough and furthermore into strips of the same dough.

The noodles are then prepared into disc like shapes where the shapes are cooked in cooking oil. After the process of cooking is executed, the procedure of drying the noodles takes place instantly. They are then transferred into cups where vegetables and spices are added for extra taste and the manufacturing process is then wrapped up by adding labels and sealing them so no air particles can enter.
