Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main stages of the noodle manufacturing process, from storage to final packaging. However, the description is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear, analytical overview. While the key steps are identified, the response would benefit from grouping the stages more logically (e.g., preparation, processing, and packaging) rather than listing them in a single, long paragraph. The overview provided is a bit repetitive and does not fully highlight the key features or the transformation process effectively. To improve, ensure the summary captures the essence of the process more concisely and clearly distinguishes between the different phases of production.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks proper paragraphing, which is essential for a clear structure in Task 1. The entire body is presented as one long, dense paragraph, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of the process. While there is a basic attempt at logical sequencing using words like 'next' and 'after that', the overuse of these simple connectors makes the flow feel mechanical. The lack of clear paragraph breaks between the introduction, overview, and the detailed process description significantly hinders the overall coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'the given structure exhibits' and 'the manufacturing of instant noodles commense' show an attempt at formal language, but there are errors in word choice and spelling (e.g., 'commense' instead of 'commence', 'colclude' instead of 'conclude'). The range of vocabulary is limited, and there is a reliance on simple, everyday terms rather than more precise, technical terminology appropriate for describing a manufacturing process. Improving precision and accuracy in spelling will help elevate the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, particularly regarding sentence structure and punctuation. Many sentences are run-on, lacking necessary full stops or commas to separate distinct ideas, such as 'the flour of noodles is added than upcoming step is mixer'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage. While the writer attempts to use complex structures, these are often faulty, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on writing shorter, clearer sentences and ensuring that each sentence has a clear subject and verb, while also paying closer attention to basic punctuation.
