The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The diagrammatic representation demonstrates the procedure a factory follows in manufacturing instant noodles.

To make instant noodles, first the flour is transformed into the storage silos. Then, the flour is mixed with the water and oil with the help of a mixer. After mixing them, rollers are used to make dough sheets. In the next step, dough sheets are cut into dough strips. After that, dough strips are converted into noodle discs.

Moving further, noodle discs are fried in cooking oil and then the drying process takes place. Then, the fried discs are filled in the cups mixed with some vegetables and spices. In the next step, labelling and sealing are done on the cups of instant noodles and made it available for sale to the wholesalers and retailers.

Overall, all the steps are important and interlinked with each other. Omission of even a single step would halt the whole procedure.
