The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram illustrates how instant noodles are manufactured in a industry. This process has total of eight steps, beginning with storage of flour and ending with labelling and sealing of products.

In the first step, rice flour is stored in silos so that it can be reached to bakery. And in the second step, this flour is mixed with water and oil and then passes through mixer. After that dough sheets are prepared when this mixture passes through roller. Subsequently, the dough is accurately sliced into strips. Furthermore, noodle discs are made from these strips. And then these noodle discs are cooked in oil and dried.

After that, these noodle discs are placed in cups. And then spices are added and at the end, cups are garnished with vegetables. In the final step, products are sealed and labelled before being distributed to shops.

Overall, the process of making noodles is linear and consists of several stages, from mixing ingredients to packaging final product.
