Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, reaching only 72 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. The summary lacks an overview of the process and fails to highlight key stages or make meaningful comparisons. The description is a simple, linear list of steps rather than a comprehensive report. To improve, you must provide an introductory sentence, a clear overview of the main trends or stages, and expand on the details of the manufacturing process to meet the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is written as a single, long, run-on sentence. There is no paragraphing, which makes the text difficult to follow. While some transition words like 'Firstly', 'then', and 'afterwards' are used, they are used mechanically and repetitively to link clauses. There is a lack of logical progression or grouping of information. To improve, you should organize your report into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs that group related stages of the process together.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive. Words like 'transported' and 'then' are used multiple times, which limits the range of expression. There is no attempt to use more precise or academic vocabulary related to industrial processes (e.g., 'conveyor belt', 'automated', 'packaging'). The language is functional but lacks the flexibility and precision required for a higher band score. You should aim to incorporate more varied verbs and nouns to describe the stages of the diagram.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response consists of a single, poorly punctuated sentence. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the grammatical control is weak. For example, 'the process how instant noodles are manufactured' is grammatically incorrect; it should be 'the process by which...'. The frequent use of comma splices and the absence of full stops make the writing difficult to read. You need to focus on using a variety of sentence structures, including complex sentences, and ensure proper punctuation to separate your ideas.
