The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram illustrates the manufacturing of instant noodles.

Overall, it consists of eight stages, beginning from storage of flour and ending in the labelling and sealing.

Initially, flour truck is transported to the noodle company, which then used to fill the storage silos with the help of connecting it by pipe. In the second stage, the mixer of flour with water along with oil is passed to the rollers, where dough sheets are being processed. Once this stage has been completed, these dough sheets are turned to form dough strips. Afterwards, these strips are used to shape into the form of circular discs of noodles.

In the next stage, they are added to the cooking oil for deep frying and then drying it later on. Furthermore, they are poured into the cups by adding vegetables and spices inside them. Finally, they are labelled and stamped with the company name and sealed off before transporting to the local markets.
