The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The process diagram shows how instant noodles are manufactured at a food processing plant by various steps.

Overall, this linear process consists of 8 different steps beginning from storage of flour in silos and ends at the labeling and sealing of cups.

At very first stage, flour is dumped for storage into the silos. That stored flour from silos is then transferred into the mixer, where oil and water are added. As soon as the dough is ready, it passes in between the rollers and converts in dough sheets. Further, those sheets undergo the cutting machine, which cuts the strips out of the sheets.

Those strips are shaped into a disc. In addition, soft noodles discs are fried in cooking oil and dried further to give them hard texture. At the ending stages, hard noodles along with spices and vegetables are packed into cups which are labeled and sealed to be shipped.
