The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The diagram outlines the stages of instant noodles manufacturing.

The process has eight distinct steps. The process starts with the storage of flour in storage silos and ends with the sealing and labeling of the instant cup noodles. The manufacturing process is linear and does not have any recurring step throughout the process.

Firstly, the flour that is stored in the storage silos is brought to the manufacturing unit and than mixed with water and oil using a mixer to form dough for the noodles. Afterwards, the dough is than passed through rollers to turn the raw dough into dough sheets. Later, these dough sheets are cut into strips and those strips than are turned into noodle discs.

Subsequently, after dealing with the raw material and turning it into desired form, the noodle discs are cooked in oil and dried at the same stage. Moreover, after putting the dried noodles discs in the cups they are filled with vegetables and spices. Lastly, the cups are sealed and labelled and sent out to the vendors.
