The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram illustrates how instant noodles are prepared in the industry. There are eight main stages, beginning with the storage of flour in silos and ending with sealing and labelling.

Firstly, the flour is stored in the storage silos and transferred to the mixing container. In the next stage, water and oil are added to the flour, and all the materials are mixed in the container. After the mixing is fully complete, the materials are rolled through the rollers to make small, thin dough sheets. These sheets are further cut into small, circular threads to prepare small dough strips. After completing this step, the noodles are shaped into discs, and these noodles are put into cooking oil to cook. After completing the cooking, the noodle discs are dried. In the next stage, the prepared noodles are filled into the cups, and ingredients such as masala and vegetables are added. In the final stage, the cups are sealed and labelled on the outer body of the cups. After finishing the labelling, the sealed cups are arranged properly and put onto the conveyor belt for further packing and transportation.
