The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The diagram outlines the manufacturing process of instant noodles.

Overall, the manufacturing process is linear. It consists of 8 steps. The process starts with bringing the flour stored in storage silos to the manufacturing unit and ends at instant noodle cups ready for counsumption. The most improtant steps include pre-cooking and drying noodles discs to increase their shelf life and to make it more convenient for consumers.

Firstly, the flour is brought to the factory from storage silos and then put in an industrial mixer along with water and oil to knead dough. The noodle dough is later passed through a number of roller to transform the dough into dough sheets, which are then cut into thin strips. Later, these strips are made into cirrcular noodles discs.

Subsequently, the noodles discs are cooked in oil and dried to store their moisture and increase their shelf life, after this cups are filled with vegetables and spices along with the dried noodles. The noodle cups are labelled and sealed after packing it with all the required ingredients. This leads us to the last step which is sending consumer ready noodle cups to market,
