Student answer (Band 6.0)
The diagram illustrates the production process of vegetable flavoured instant noodles in industrial scale.
Overall, the linear process includes eight steps, which are storing, mixing, preparing dough sheets, preparing dough strips, shaping noodles, cooking and drying, adding spices finally the labelling and sealing. The process begins with flour and ending with final product.
Inisially, the flour was storaged within the storage silos and it was trasnfered to the manufacturing process. At the begining, water and oil was added to the flour and mixing it by using mixture. Then after, mixture was delivered to dough sheet and strips making unit by using rollers. After that, noodles strips were shaped roud disc shaped.
At the sixth stage, the noodles discs were cooked in oil and the dried well. Meanwhile, instant noodles and the packet of vegetable spices were added to the each cup. After that the cups were labeld and sealed well.
Finally, the instant cup noodles product was delivered to further process. Manyacturing process was complecated but following the right flow.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student successfully covers all the key stages of the instant noodle manufacturing process, providing a clear overall summary in the introduction and second paragraph. The main features are identified correctly, progressing logically from flour storage and mixing through to shaping, cooking, seasoning, and finally labelling and sealing. However, there are minor omissions and slight inaccuracies in detailing the exact sequence; for instance, the text mentions adding instant noodles along with spices into the cups at stage seven, which conflates the noodles themselves with the additional vegetable and spice ingredients shown in the diagram. Despite these minor lapses, the response presents a clear overview and effectively selects relevant information, satisfying the requirements for a Band 6.5 or solid Band 7 descriptor.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, beginning with an introduction that outlines the process and continuing with body paragraphs that follow the chronological steps of the diagram. Cohesive devices such as 'Inisially', 'At the begining', 'Then after', and 'Finally' are utilized to guide the reader through the stages, though some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive ('After that', 'Then after'). Paragraphing is functional, and the overall progression is clear, moving smoothly from the raw materials to the final packed product. While referencing and linking could be smoother and more varied to reach higher bands, the logical arrangement warrants a Band 6.5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student attempts a range of process-specific vocabulary, such as 'industrial scale', 'manufacturing process', 'storage silos', and 'roller conveyor'. However, there are several noticeable spelling errors ('Inisially', 'storaged', 'trasnfered', 'begining', 'mixture' instead of mixer, 'roud', 'labeld', 'complecated', 'Manyacturing') and some awkward word choices or collocations ('mixing it by using mixture', 'noodles strips were shaped roud disc shaped'). These lexical errors occasionally distract the reader, though communication is never severely impeded. The range is adequate for the task, but lexical control restricts the score to Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses and passive voice constructions ('the flour was storaged within the storage silos and it was trasnfered'). However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent due to frequent errors in tense usage (switching inappropriately between past and present, such as 'the flour was storaged... and it was trasnfered' versus 'the diagram illustrates') and missing articles or preposition errors ('on industrial scale' instead of 'on an industrial scale', 'to the each cup'). While some complex forms are attempted, the high frequency of basic grammatical and punctuation errors means the majority of sentences are not error-free, placing this performance firmly in Band 6.0.
