The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The diagram illustrates the process of manufacturing instant noodles.

Overall, the manufacturing process of instant noodles consists of eight different stages and a number of different tools and infrastructures, from storing flour, processing and labeling and sealing the instant noodles cup.

At the first stage of the process,flour is stored in silos(1) and it is mixed with the water and oil in a mixer(2). The combined ingredients are passed through several rollers which form sheets of dough(3), which are subsequently transformed into dough strips via mechanical cutting(4).

In the next stage, dough stripes are shaped into discs(5). Then these noodles discs undergo cooking-oil and drying processe(6). Once dried, the noodles are then put into the cups where some vegetables and different spices are added to increase the flavour (7). Once the cups are loaded with noodles, vegetables and spices; these cups are labeled with brand logo and sealed with a lid(8). Finally,the instant noodles are ready for sale.
