The diagram below shows how instant noodles are manufactured.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The illustration shows the tedious process of manufacturing instant noodles in a factory. From raw materials like flour, water and oil, turning it into a convenient and an easy meal that we see in stores and. It goes through step by step procedures that requires mechanical and thermal processes before it becomes food.

Initially, flour that's been stored in large silos are transported to the factory where it is combined with water and oil in a mixer. It forms into a dough and are passed through the "rollers". The flattened and thinner sheets become dough strips which are shaped into noodle discs. Then it is cooked with oil and dried before transfering it into cups. Vegetables and spices are incorporporated for added flavor and nutrition.

Afterwards, it goes through the last step which is labelling and sealing. It is labeled accordingly before consumer distribution and sealed tightly for preservation and longer shelf-life.
