Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially, earning this band because the description of the manufacturing process contains several mechanical steps that are either under-developed or inaccurately reported. While the writer attempts to trace the steps from the storage silos to the final labelling and sealing, the overview of the diagram is extremely brief and lacks a clear summary of the main stages. For instance, expressions like "In the next process, mixture divides into different noodles discs" misrepresent how dough strips are formed and cut into discs before cooking and drying. Furthermore, some key details, such as the initial role of the rollers and the precise placement of vegetables, spices, and cups, are muddled and lack clear extension, leading to a restricted and partially confusing account of the visual information.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response demonstrates some organisation through basic cohesive devices such as "First", "Then", and "At the last process", but there is no clear overall progression across the text. Paragraphing is poorly handled, with awkward line breaks and a lack of clear separation between the distinct stages of the manufacturing cycle. Referencing and substitution are also frequently unclear; for example, phrases like "te discs are goes through" and "at this process" create mechanical and repetitive links between sentences rather than smooth logical flow. While the general order of the process is discernible, the lack of sophisticated cohesive devices and flawed structural arrangement keep the writing at this intermediate level.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The lexical range used is limited but minimally adequate to describe the basic actions in the diagram. The student attempts some less common vocabulary related to the process, such as "storage silos", "rollers", and "labelling", but struggles with precise word choices, word forms, and collocations, writing phrases like "Noodles manufacturing through machines", "mixture divides", and "flls to the cups". There are also noticeable spelling errors, including "alongwith", "cuts in the form strips", "te", "discs are goes", and "completly", which occasionally cause strain or difficulty for the reader in following the exact sequence of operations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic active clauses. Attempts at more complex structures or passive forms are frequently faulty, seen in errors such as "flour from storage silos carried out by trucks", "rollers those makes dough", and "the dough sheets are cuts in the form strips". There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, prepositions, and article usage throughout the text—such as missing articles before nouns and incorrect verb tenses like "are goes" and "are passes". These frequent grammatical inaccuracies cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and reflect typical patterns of lower-band control.
