To begin with, the storage of a significant amount of flour in silos, before being put in a mixer by adding water and oil to it. Thereafter, this mixed flour then goes through the rollers into dough sheets. Rollers are then found helpful by making the shape of noodles. These noodles then pass into dough strips.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the main stages of the manufacturing process from flour storage to final labelling and sealing. However, some parts of the process are only partially covered or are described with confusing details. For example, the transition from dough sheets to strips and discs is somewhat jumbled, and phrases like 'a stable number of cups are used' fail to clearly report the visual data. The overview provides a basic summary of the beginning and end of the process, but the main features throughout the middle stages lack full and clear development, meaning some information is inadequately reported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
There is a coherent overall arrangement, with the text divided into an introduction, overview, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, following the chronological order of the diagram. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. The use of transitional markers like 'To begin with', 'After this stage', and 'In conclusion' provides a basic structure, but referencing and sentence linking are occasionally awkward, such as starting sentences with participle phrases or conjunctions that disrupt the logical flow between ideas. Paragraphing is used, though paragraph divisions could be more purposeful to separate distinct mechanical phases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to name basic equipment and actions such as 'storage silos', 'mixer', 'rollers', and 'vegetables and spices'. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, but these are often accompanied by inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as 'immediate process' instead of 'linear process' or 'automated process', and 'different categories of flavour... is being used'. Spelling is generally acceptable, but lexical control is limited, resulting in occasional phrasing that sounds unnatural or imprecise for an academic report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing displays a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple forms and incomplete clause structures. Attempts at more complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to missing main verbs or fragmented clauses, such as 'To begin with, the storage of a significant amount of flour in silos, before being put in a mixer...' and 'After this stage, a significant number of discs in which oil is used to cook noodles and dried in this process.' There are frequent errors in agreement, such as 'different categories of flavour... is', prepositions, and verb forms, which occasionally cause difficulty for the reader.
