Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by outlining the main stages of the instant noodle manufacturing process, from flour storage to final labeling and sealing. However, some aspects are more fully developed than others. While the sequence is generally followed, the overview section suffers from fragmented and repetitive descriptions, such as "What type of process is done in every single step for making the instant noodles." To reach a higher band, the overview needs to synthesize the main trends or stages more fluently and cohesively without drifting into conversational or repetitive phrasing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The text displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear chronological progression from the first stage to the final packaging. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, the overview, the middle processing stages, and the final steps. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in repetitive transitional phrases like "in the first stage," "in the second step," and "in the seventh step." Furthermore, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as when referring to the mixer mixture as "the mixer of flour." Improving the variety and precision of cohesive devices would elevate this criterion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully conveying the basic steps of the diagram using terms like "storage silos," "dough sheets," "vegetables and spices," and "labelling and sealing." The student attempts some less common vocabulary, but this is occasionally accompanied by word-choice or word-form errors that do not impede communication, such as writing "the mixer of flour" instead of "the mixture of flour" or "noodles disc" instead of "noodle discs." Spelling is generally accurate, but expanding the range of functional vocabulary and ensuring precise collocations would help secure a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as relative clauses ("where it is then sent") and passive constructions ("The flour is kept"). However, there are frequent grammatical errors in article use, singular/plural agreement, and prepositional patterns, including phrases like "the of series of steps," "get converted," "storage in first stage," and "go in the cooking oil." While these errors do not severely impede communication, they persist throughout the text and restrict the response to a lower band. Increasing grammatical accuracy and sentence structure variety is essential for improvement.
