Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response partially addresses the task by outlining some steps of the instant noodle manufacturing process, such as the flour storage, mixing, rolling into dough sheets, and final packaging. However, the explanation is limited and lacks adequate development across several key stages of the diagram. Furthermore, important requirements are not fully met: the response falls short of the required 150-word minimum, containing only 139 words. The overview is also very basic, merely restating the prompt rather than giving a clear summary of the main stages and overall progression of the manufacturing cycle.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation, dividing the response into an introduction, a brief overview, and subsequent steps, but there is no clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or repetitively, such as 'than other after that the other workes is starts' and 'Moreover', which disrupts the logical flow of the process description. Paragraphing is also rudimentary, as sentences are clustered into a single block without a proper structure, making the chronological sequence of the diagram difficult to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary range is limited and minimally adequate for describing the process. There are frequent spelling errors ('illustrade', 'manuficturing', 'instand', 'requiered', 'douph', 'leabling', 'hygenic') and incorrect word choices ('silos storage in flour', 'workers', 'trunk') that impede communication and strain the reader. The student attempts to use process-related terms like 'discs', 'stages', and 'sealing', but the overall lexical control remains weak.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex clauses that are heavily flawed. There are numerous grammatical errors, including incorrect verb forms ('how to manuficturing', 'start is silos', 'cooking or drying with oil'), missing articles, and awkward prepositions. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader and severely restrict the grammatical score.
