Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by outlining the main manufacturing stages of instant noodles, from storage silos to labelling and sealing. However, some aspects are more fully developed than others. While the opening provides an overview, details regarding the transition from dough sheets into strips and discs lack precision, and minor steps like the addition of water, oil, and spices are only briefly mentioned. The information presented is generally accurate according to the diagram, satisfying the requirements for a satisfactory task response, though extending the explanation of key mechanical phases would elevate the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The text demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement and follows a logical sequence mirroring the linear flow of the manufacturing process. Cohesive devices are used to guide the reader through the stages, such as "Moving futher to the rest of the process" and "after that". However, referencing and paragraphing are somewhat faulty; the text is divided into only three blocks with missing terminal punctuation, and sentence boundaries are blurred, which makes the progression occasionally mechanical. Better demarcation of sentences and more varied cohesive links would improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, successfully attempting less-common process-related terms such as "manufacturing stages", "storage silos", and "discs". However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors that reflect a limited control of lexical features, including "prodict", "convarted", "canvarted", "dryed", and "cupes". While these errors do not completely impede communication, they highlight a need for greater accuracy and a wider range of precise lexical items appropriate for an academic report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures frequently contain errors. There are noticeable issues with passive voice constructions and verb forms, such as "are mixing", "had been seat", and "ends with the labeled cupes out for seal". Punctuation and capitalization are deficient, notably the complete absence of full stops and capital letters at the beginning of sentences. Nevertheless, the grammatical errors rarely impede overall communication, placing the response firmly within this performance category.
