Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the process as beginning with flour storage and ending with labelled cups, and you report several central stages, including mixing, forming dough sheets and strips, making noodle discs, and adding vegetables and spices. However, the account is only partly complete and some details are unclear or inaccurate: the overview says the noodles are “ready” in the silos, and the cooking and drying stage is reduced to applying oil and cooking, with drying omitted. The final packaging stage is mentioned, but the sequence and role of the cups could be described more precisely. To strengthen the response, give a clear overview of the main production phases and report each stage accurately, including cooking in oil and drying before the noodles enter cups.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall order, moving from flour storage through processing to packaging, and the separate overview gives the reader an initial sense of the process. However, most details are crowded into one long paragraph, so the stages are difficult to follow. Linking phrases such as “then,” “after that,” and “after that of” are repetitive or awkward, and some references are unclear—for example, “the machine” does not specify which equipment is meant. Organise the description into clear stages, such as preparation and shaping, followed by cooking and packaging. Use a wider range of accurate sequencing expressions and make each sentence focus on one or two connected steps.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “dough sheets,” “strips,” “noodles discs,” and “labeling or sealing,” which helps convey the diagram’s subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate or repetitive, sometimes making the process hard to understand. “Floor” is repeatedly used where the intended material is flour, while “the floor stores through truck” and “strips dough rolls into circle” are not natural descriptions. Aim for precise process verbs and standard collocations, and avoid repeating “machine” when a more specific term such as “mixer” or “rollers” is available. Proofread spelling and word forms as well as vocabulary choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to describe a sequence using both simple statements and longer clauses, but grammatical control is weak and errors frequently make the relationships between stages difficult to follow. The opening, “The diagram below illustrate,” has subject–verb disagreement, and “the instant noodles manufacturing procedure starts at stores” has an unclear and faulty sentence structure. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and verb forms, as in “the whole instant noodle are ready” and “the dough sheet cuts into strips.” Most sentences rely on repeated “then” clauses rather than varied, controlled structures. Practise accurate passive forms for processes—for example, “the dough is cut into strips”—and check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
