Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the diagram as a manufacturing process and include several key stages, from flour storage and mixing through shaping, cooking, adding vegetables and spices, and sealing the cups. However, the overview is not an accurate summary of the process: the claim that noodles are “mostly liked by today’s generation” is not shown in the diagram, and the description of the noodles becoming hard is also unsupported. Some stages are unclear or misreported, particularly “strips is put in noodles discs”; the diagram shows strips being formed into noodle discs before cooking. To strengthen the response, give a concise overview of the full sequence and describe only the inputs, transformations, and final packaging shown.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an overall chronological shape, and words such as “First step,” “Later,” and “finally” help signal movement through the process. The paragraph break also separates the overview from the detailed account. However, progression is weakened by unclear links and abrupt phrasing, such as “from storage are it sending to Mixer” and “while strips is put in noodles discs.” The overview itself mixes an unsupported comment about popularity with process details, so it does not guide the reader effectively. Organise the stages in clear, complete sentences, using a consistent sequence and references such as “the dough” and “these discs” only when their meaning is unmistakable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “dough sheets,” “dough strips,” “cooking,” and “labelling and sealing.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the production stages. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, making parts difficult to interpret: “given shaping,” “cutter process,” and “get harden” do not describe the diagram clearly. There are also spelling errors such as “dryed” and “vegitables.” Use precise process verbs and standard forms, for example “is transferred,” “is cut into strips,” and “is cooked and dried.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple and longer sentences, and the sequence is generally understandable despite frequent grammatical problems. Errors in verb forms and agreement occur throughout, for example “flour are sending,” “flour was mixing,” and “the texture are maintain.” Sentence boundaries and capitalisation are also inconsistent, as in “Overall, instant noodles are mostly liked by today's generation. followed noodles making process…” These errors often make relationships between stages unclear. Practise forming passive sentences consistently for a process description, such as “The flour is sent to the mixer” and “The noodles are cooked and dried,” and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation.
