Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the topic and give a broad sequence from flour storage through mixing to packaging, so the response is relevant to the process. However, the account is only partial: it says the process has “eight stapes” but does not clearly report the main stages, and several details are inaccurate or unclear. For example, the dough is not mixed “into the dough sheets”; it is rolled into sheets, cut into strips, and formed into noodle discs before cooking and drying. The addition of vegetables and spices, cups, and final sealing are also not clearly described, and “selling” is not shown in the diagram. The overview is vague, and the response is 22 words below the required minimum. Add a clear overview and describe each key stage accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs that attempt to follow the process. Sequencing words such as “Firstly” and “Subsequently” help signal progression. However, the stages are compressed into long, loosely connected sentences, so the reader cannot always tell where one stage ends and the next begins. In the first process paragraph, “After then” and repeated uses of “and then” make the links mechanical, while “it” has unclear references. The final paragraph also jumps from making strips to cooking and packaging without explaining the intervening stages. Use one sentence for each group of stages, with clear references to the noodles or cups, and connect the steps in their actual order.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “flour,” “storage silos,” “dough sheets,” “dough strips,” and “vegetable,” which helps establish the subject. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors make key terms difficult to recognise, such as “stapes,” “meterial,” “meshin,” “proshide,” and “lebeling.” Some word choices are also inaccurate or unnatural: “the flour truck store” does not describe the truck’s role clearly, and “selling” is not a manufacturing stage shown in the diagram. Build a more precise set of process verbs and nouns, such as “is transferred,” “is rolled,” “is cut,” “noodle discs,” and “sealed.” Check spelling carefully, especially for words taken directly from the diagram.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to link stages using longer sentences and passive forms, for example, “it is cooked and dry,” but control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent. Errors include “the flour truck store,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “some amount of this material is keeped,” where the passive verb form is incorrect. The sentence “After then it is mixed in to the dough sheets and it is convert in to a dough” also has faulty verb forms and unclear grammatical relationships between the stages. Most sentences rely on simple clauses joined by “and,” limiting the range. Practise accurate passive constructions for processes, such as “The flour is mixed with water and oil,” and vary sentence patterns while keeping each stage clear.
