Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the diagram as a manufacturing process and give an overview that it has eight stages, beginning with flour and ending with labelled noodles. You also report several key stages, including mixing water and oil, forming dough sheets and strips, cooking and drying, and adding vegetables and spices. This covers the main process, but some details are unclear or inaccurate: the flour comes from a truck into storage silos, rather than being collected from “many truck,” and the cups are filled before labelling and sealing. The ending about shops and consumers is not shown in the diagram, so it should be omitted. A more precise account of the sequence and a clearer overview of the transformation from flour to finished cups would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the earlier and later stages. Sequencing expressions such as “To commence,” “Moreover,” and “Finally” help signal progression. However, some links are mechanical or do not express the relationship accurately: “On the other hand” suggests a contrast, although the process simply continues, and “As a result” does not clearly connect the preceding cooking stage to cup filling. The sequence is also occasionally difficult to follow because several stages are compressed into long sentences. Organise the description in the exact order shown, using clear links such as “Next” and “After this,” and make each sentence focus on one or two connected stages.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “Storage silos,” “Dough sheets,” “Dough strips,” “Cooking and drying,” and “Labelling and sealing,” which helps identify the stages. However, spelling errors and imprecise word choices are noticeable, including “manufatureing,” “colloect,” “spiece,” and “purchesing.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “passed throughout the consumers” and “with facilitate of machines.” Use accurate process verbs and collocations to describe what happens to the materials, rather than relying on vague phrases such as “make” or “pass.” Proofreading spelling and choosing more precise terms would improve clarity and show a more adequate range for this task.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, and the overall meaning can generally be followed. However, errors in sentence structure and verb forms recur. For example, “the process consists several eight stages” is missing a preposition and has an unclear quantity, while “it initiate with collecting” and “the products are mixer” use incorrect verb forms. Agreement and tense are also inconsistent in “the cups which was empty” and “process begin.” Some sentences join several actions without a clear grammatical structure, making the sequence harder to understand. Practise passive forms suited to process descriptions, such as “the flour is mixed” and “the noodles are dried,” and check subject–verb agreement and articles when revising.
